The area’s top-ranked basketball teams took a tumble in the latest Prepcountry.com Coaches Polls, released Tuesday.
The Buford girls slid one spot to No. 2 Class AA, the North Hall boys dropped from No. 2 to out of the Class AAA top 10, and the Chestatee girls fell from No. 3 to No. 8 in Class AAA.
It wasn’t all bad news for area teams, though. The competition is looking rugged in Region 8B-AAA, where three teams occupy spots in Class AAA’s top seven. The Gainesville boys moved up one spot to No. 5 and the West Hall boys jumped two spots to No. 7 in Class AAA. Monroe Area sits at No. 4.
In Class AA, the East Hall boys dropped one spot to No. 6, Union County climbed up three spots to No. 7, switching places with No. 10 Buford. The Jefferson boys dropped out of the top 10.
