After leading the Johnson boys soccer team to the Region 8-AAA championship and an appearance in the second round of the state playoffs, Brian Shirley has been named the Region 8-AAA Boys Coach of the Year, as voted on by the region coaches. The Knights finished the season 15-4 after falling to Woodward Academy in the second round. Also for Johnson, senior Ariel Mejia was named the Boys Player of the Year.

On the girls side of 8-AAA, White County's Nathan Adams was named Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Warriors to a 13-4 record.

Chestatee sophomore Alexis Rebollar was named the Player of the Year.
