The North Hall wrestling team found plenty of success throughout the season, and this weekend’s traditional state championship meet was no exception.
After winning, the Hall County championship and finishing second in the duals state tournament, the Trojans finished as runner up again at the Class 3A traditional meet, falling just a few points behind Sonoraville.
The event was highlighted by state title wins from Jacob Pedraza (113 pounds), Matthew Glenn (126) and Seth Carlton (220), with Pedraza and Glenn claiming their second consecutive individual state championships.
Bowie Eisenberg finished in second at 285 pounds, while Hunter Adams took fourth at 160 pounds.
In other area action, Lumpkin County produced a pair of state champions, with Nolan Wheeler (152) and Sam Irwin (182) finishing atop their respective weight classes.
Jefferson finished third in 3A — just a few points behind North Hall — thanks to a trio of first place finishes. Mason Mingus (106), Ryan Hurd (160) and Gavin London (285) all claimed titles with wins on Saturday.
