Brady Todd won in straight sets in No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-4) to help No. 1 seed Buford to a 3-1, second-round Class 5A state playoff win against Riverwood on Wednesday in Buford.
The victory gives the Wolves a home quarterfinal match against third-seeded Ola.
Dalton Counts won in No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-0) for Buford, while teammate Luke Davidson got the third win in No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-0). Trent Milton/Kurt Knudsen were losing in No. 2 doubles (4-6, 2-0) before the clinching win.
BUFORD GIRLS 3, RIVERWOOD 1: Alex Mann won in No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1) to help Buford earn a quarterfinal date with South Effingham on Monday in Guyton.
Mallory Arrigo/Bonni Brown earned the win in No. 1 doubles (6-0, 6-2) for the Lady Wolves, while teammates Anais Acree/Maggie Regier won in No. 2 doubles (7-5, 6-4). Rachel Staley was losing in No. 3 singles (2-4) before the third win.
