North Hall’s girls tennis team topped Dawson County, 3-0, in the Region 7-3A tournament semifinals Wednesday in Dawsonville. With the win, the Lady Trojans will play for the region championship and top seed to state Thursday.
Against Dawson County, Lauren Davis won at No. 2 singles, while the doubles pairs of Sydney Patterson/Raquel Kallab and Ella Oxley/Lauren White won, all 6-1, 6-0.
NORTH HALL BOYS ADVANCE TO REGION FINAL: Kody Dills and doubles pairs Jackson Roush/Forrester Terry and Noah Wagner/Jake Bruce propelled the Trojans to a 3-1 win over Cherokee Bluff in the Region 7-3A tournament.
The Trojans will face Great Atlanta Christian in the finals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS SPLIT TWO IN REGION: Drayton Matus picked up the only win for the Falcons in a 3-1 loss to Blessed Trinity in the Region 7-4A semifinals on Wednesday in Flowery Branch. Flowery Branch won 3-0 against West Hall in the opening round.
Flowery Branch faces Marist for state tournament seeding today in Flowery Branch.
FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS FALL IN REGION SEMIFINALS: After a 3-0 win against Chestatee to open tournament play, the Lady Falcons fell to Blessed Trinity, 3-0, in the Region 7-4A tournament on Wednesday. In the opener, Annabelle Thomas, Alyssa McSpadden and Olivia Nance won in singles for Flowery Branch.
Up next, Flowery Branch faces Denmark for state tournament seeding at 2 p.m. Thursday.
BUFORD BOYS SWEEP JOHNSON: Brady Todd and Dean Kingsley won in singles, while Cameron Tidwell/Caleb Williamson won in doubles for the Wolves in the Region 8-5A tournament on Wednesday at Buford City Park. With the win, Buford faces Clarke Central at 5 p.m. Wednesday for the region championship.
BUFORD GIRLS SWEEP CLARKE CENTRAL: Alex Mann won in singles, while Sydney Grothe/Izzy Brewer and Kennedy DeLoach/Taylor Ryczek won in doubles for the Lady Wolves in the Region 8-5A tournament on Wednesday. With the win, Buford faces Loganville at 5 p.m. Thursday for the region title.
