High school tennis: Buford boys and girls teams clinch regular season region championships

The Buford boys and girls tennis teams both clinched regular season region championships Wednesday with wins over Loganville. The boys team earned a 4-1 victory, while the girls won 5-0. 

The Wolves (12-3, 5-0 Region 8-5A) picked up singles wins from Brady Todd, Dean Kingsley and Luke Davidson and a doubles victory by the team of Todd Goehmann/Caleb Williamson.

On Thursday, Buford visits North Oconee. 

The Buford girls (10-5, 5-0 Region 8-5A) followed suit with singles wins from Alex Mann, Caroline Henderson and Kylie McCammon , and doubles victories from Sydney Grothe/Taylor Ryczek and Kennedy Deloach/Sophie Brewer.

The Wolves head to North Oconee on Thursday.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 4, NORTH HALL 1: Philip Mady, Dylan Pineda and Ben Burns grabbed singles wins for the Red Elephants, alongside a victory by the doubles team of Matthew Carter/Luke Griffin.

Gainesville hosts Johnson on Thursday at Longwood Park.

The team of Kody Dills/Jonathan Elder won in doubles for the Trojans (6-7, 2-1, Region 7-3A).

North Hall hosts region-foe Dawson County on Thursday at 4p.m.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 5, GAINESVILLE 0:

Anna Montgomery, Baylee Turner and Lauren Davis each secured a singles win, while their doubles counterparts, Sydney Patterson/Raquel Kallab and Ella Oxley/Cailin Cooper, sealed the Trojans’ (10-3, 4-0 Region 7-3A) undefeated night with back-to-back victories.

The Lady Trojans host Dawson Countyfor a regional match at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
