High school scoreboard: North Hall volleyball wins county championship

The North Hall High volleyball program earned the Hall County Championship, beating Lakeview Academy 25-22, 25-16 in the final match Saturday. Also on the day the Lady Trojans beat Gainesville 25-18, 23-25, 15-11, Johnson 25-5, 25-11 and West Hall 25-14, 25-8. North Hall’s only loss was against Lakeview Academy in pool play 25-21, 27-25.

Leading the way for North Hall, Lily Paschall had 79 assists, nine kills and seven aces. Melissa DeVerter chipped in 33 kills and 14 blocks for the Lady Trojans, while Autumn Tucker finished with 31 kills and 13 digs. Lena Strickland finished with 11 aces and 41 digs for the Lady Trojans.

On Tuesday, North Hall hosts Gainesville.

EAST HALL TAKES FOURTH AT COUNTY TOURNAMENT: The Lady Vikings topped Chestatee and Lanier Christian Academy but lost to Gainesville in pool play of the Hall County tournament Saturday. In the gold bracket, East Hall fell to Lakeview Academy and Gainesville to finish fourth overall.

For the Lady Vikings, Niyah Rucker had 27 kills, nine blocks, one assist and a dig. Also for East Hall, Savannah Thellman had 15 points scored on serve with seven aces, five kills, 19 digs and 54 assists. Holly Poole had 25 points scored on serve with nine aces, three assists, 27 digs and 21 kills for the Lady Vikings.

Softball
Beth Eddins pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits for Chestatee in a 4-0 win against Union County on Saturday in Blairsville. Bailey Mason had a three-run double for the Lady War Eagles (6-5). Cheyenne Roper had a pair of hits, while Hannah Jones reached base twice for Chestatee.

On Tuesday, Chestatee hosts Marist at 5 p.m. in Gainesville.

FLOWERY BRANCH WINS PAIR OF GAMES: Alyssa Kimbrell and Kara Kight threw complete games for the Lady Falcons in wins against Hart County, 9-0, and Monroe Area, 4-1, on Saturday.
