Lakeview Academy needed a few extra innings against Clarke Central Monday night, but after 11 frames the Lions finally emerged with an 11-10 win to move to 5-1 on the year.
Campbell Melson got the win in relief, holding Clarke Central scoreless over the last four extra innings and striking out three. Holden Cooper got the start, striking out five over five innings.
Cooper also led the way offensively, picking up two hits and a pair of RBIs.
The Lions will be back in action Wednesday when they take on West Hall at 5:55 p.m.
CHEROKEE BLUFF 7, EAST HALL 3: Parker Shope went six innings with six srikeouts and drove in two runs for Cherokee Bluff in its victory over East Hall Monday night. Also for the Bears (5-3), Jackson Kemp had a run and an RBI double.
Cherokee Bluff hosts East Hall at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 3, NORTH HALL 2: Annabelle Thomas, Alyssa McSpadden and Olivia Nance all won in singles for the Lady Falcons (6-2). For the Lady Trojans, the teams of Sydney Patterson/Raquel Kallab and Ella Oxley/Lauren White won in doubles.
