Kajuan Hale scored 16 points, Xavier Bledson added 14 and the Gainesville boys basketball team defeated Dacula 83-69 to repeat as Region 8-6A champions on Saturday in Dacula.
The Red Elephants (20-6) are now winners of 17-straight entering the Class 6A tournament as a No. 1 seed.
Also for Gainesville, Rafael Rubel (11 points), K.J. Buffen (10) and Jarred Rosser (10) were others to chip in double-digit outings.

GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN BOYS 71, DAWSON COUNTY 52: Cullen Reed tallied 21 points, while Jeremiah Crumley had 13 for the Tigers in the Region 7-3A title game. Dawson County (19-9) hosts Monroe Area in the first round of the playoffs. Date and time for the game are still to be determined.
GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 46, EAST HALL 28: Carly Winters broke the double-digit mark with 10 points to lead East Hall in a loss in the Region 7-3A championship in Dawsonville.
Jenny Lopez (seven points) and Maggie Griffin (six points) also added to the scoring efforts for the Lady Vikings (16-12). East Hall hosts Hart County in the first round of the Class 3A tournament next Friday night in Gainesville.
NORTH HALL GIRLS 63, DAWSON COUNTY 62: Senior Camilla Howell scored a team-high 19 points, Ansleigh Ferguson chipped in 16 points and 12 boards for a double-double and the Lady Trojans (15-12) edged Dawson County for third place in the Region 7-3A tournament.
Maci Gillespie (13 points) and Grace Hollifield (10) were two more to amass double figures for North Hall, which plays its first-round playoff game on the road next Friday. Time and opponent are still to be determined.
Kaylee Sticker paced the Lady Tigers with 18 points, followed by Abi Chatham with 13 and Calli Watson with 11. Kati Brady (seven points) and Anna Lowe (six) were others to contribute on offense for Dawson County (15-13), which opens the state playoffs next weekend on the road against the Region 8-3A champion. WEST HALL GIRLS 59, CHESTATEE 57: Three Lady Spartans cracked double figures as Anna McKendree led with 26 points, followed by Kinsey Wilson with 12 and Reagan Horton with 10 to lead West Hall to third place in the Region 7-4A tournament.
Senior Lindsey Caudell paced the War Eagles with 21 points, while Maggie McNair (14 points) and Christina Garcia (11) were others to score in double digits for Chestatee.
WEST HALL BOYS 64, WHITE COUNTY 59 (3OT): Dee Buffington racked up a game-high 16 points, Jeremiah Prather added 13 points and Noah Edmondson had 12 as the Spartans won in thrilling fashion to take third in the Region 7-4A tournament.
Edmondson hit the game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation, and Prather followed suit with a buzzer-beating trey in double overtime to force the decisive overtime period in Oakwood.
Austin Harris and Chandler Harris each tallied 15 points to pace the Warriors, while Clay Dockery had nine.
EAST HALL BOYS 60, NORTH HALL 44: Jayvion Rucker had 10 points and Luke Holtzclaw added another nine to pace the Vikings (15-11), who secured a No. 3 seed in Class 3A tournament beginning next Friday. Date and time are still to be determined.
Lakeview Academy’s Bryce Kimball scored a brace, with Nic Brock and Whit Coyle assisting both goals, in a 5-2 loss to East Jackson on Saturday in Gainesville. Goalkeeper Heer Patel recorded 18 saves for the Lions (0-2).
Lakeview Academy plays Stephens County at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Toccoa.
