High school scoreboard: Flowery Branch edges region foe Loganville, 6-3

Alexander Sanchez converted on 37 and 23 yard field goals for Flowery Branch to secure a 6-3 win against Loganville on Friday. With the win, the No. 10 Falcons (7-1, 4-0 Region 8-5A) secured a berth in the state playoffs.

Flowery Branch hosts Clarke Central on Friday in Flowery Branch.

BUFORD 56, CEDAR SHOALS 0: Anthony Grant racked up three touchdowns in Buford’s homecoming win Friday night at Tom Riden Stadium. 

Aaron McLaughlin had a rushing touchdown and threw a 20-yard touchdown for the third-ranked Wolves (5-1, 3-0 Region 8-5A). Will Westmoreland also threw a touchdown for Buford.

On Friday, Buford hosts Walnut Grove at Tom Riden Stadium.

DAWSON COUNTY 43, FANNIN COUNTY 3: Coey Watson threw for 155 yards and totaled four touchdowns for Dawson County on Friday in Dawsonville. 

SeVaughn Clark racked up 188 rushing yards for the Tigers (5-2, 3-0 Region 7-3A), while teammate Chandler Caine hauled in a receiving touchdown and finished the night with 77 yards receiving. Dawson County plays East Hall on Friday in Dawsonville.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN 19, LANIER CHRISTIAN 14: Lanier Christian Academy quarterback Daniel Eppling totaled 130 yards. Jeremiah Bonds had 98 yards on the ground for the Lightning (3-5), while teammate Tommy Wandrum had receiving 75 yards in receiving. Charlie Vera contributed a blocked field goal for Lanier Christian Academy’s defense while teammate Aubrey Carlan had a fumble recovery.

Lanier Christian plays Notre Dame Academy on Friday in Duluth.
