The Gainesville High boys golf team won the Stableford-scoring formatted Big Red Shootout on Monday at the Chattahoochee Golf Club. The Red Elephants finished with 157 points, ahead of second-place Cambridge (135) and third-place Blessed Trinity (114). 

In Stableford scoring, players are awarded four points for a birdie, two for a par and one point for a bogey. Red Elephants senior Ryan Hogan finished as low medallist with 45 points, followed by his teammate Davis Weaver who had 42 points. Also counting toward the Red Elephants’ score were Zayne Hildebrand (35) and Hall County champion Andrew Hughes (35).

Buford finished fourth with 109 points.

Gainesville plays for the Region 8-6A championship at Apple Mountain on Monday in Clarkesville.
