North Hall jumped to a four-touchdown, first-half lead Friday and went on to beat Chestatee 34-14 to open the 2019 season.

Jacob Dickey led the offense with 14 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown, also adding a 71-yard receiving score. But it was the defense that North Hall coach David Bishop was particularly proud of on the night, holding the War Eagle offense in check throughout the game.

“Our defense played outstanding,” Bishop said. “They contained (Chestatee quarterback) Christian Charles pretty much up until the end. They played what I’d like to call lights out.”

JT Fair had 80 rushing yards and 67 receiving for the Trojans.

“Our kids really overcame and were able to make plays when they needed to,” Bishop said.

Seth Pressley led the War Eagles (0-1) with eight catches for 148 yards.

On Friday, North Hall hosts Jackson County at The Brickyard. Chestatee hosts Dawson County in Gainesville on Friday.
