High school basketball scoreboard: Winters sets 3-pointer record in East Hall girls win

East Hall’s Carly Winters broke a school record for most 3-pointers in a game by knocking down 11 triples in a 69-49 win against Lumpkin County on Tuesday in Dahlonega. 

The Georgia State signee tallied 37 points against the Lady Indians. Carley Cox contributed 10 points for the Lady Vikings (2-4, 1-0 Region 7-3A).

East Hall hosts North Hall on Friday in Gainesville.

BUFORD GIRLS 65, CEDAR SHOALS 28: Tory Ozment scored nine points for the Lady Wolves on Tuesday in Buford. Preston Reid, Audrey Weiner and Casey Jones had eight points apiece for the Lady Wolves (6-0, 1-0 Region 8-5A).

Buford plays Loganville at 7 p.m. Friday in Loganville.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 87, WEST HALL 73: Gabe Martin racked up 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Banks County. 

Dylan Orr had 15 points and nine rebounds with five blocks for the Leopards (4-0), while teammate Carl Cleveland finished the night with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. Darius Bonds added 10 points, 13 assists, five rebounds and four steals for Banks County.

The Leopards host Monticello at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Homer.

COMMERCE BOYS 73, JACKSON COUNTY 71: Commerce coach Russ Gregg picked up his first win as a Tiger on Tuesday in Commerce. 

Kyre Ware, who finished the night with 18 points, scored the go-ahead layup with little more than a minute left in regulation for Commerce (1-2). Jackson County’s Iaises Risher, who missed a 3-pointer at the end of regulation, recorded 22 points. Jamecus Cox had 16 points for the Tigers, while Logan Chatham had 11 points for the Panthers (2-4).

Commerce plays Hebron Christian at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Commerce.
