High school basketball scoreboard: Coxworth guides Flowery Branch boys to win

Senior guard Blake Coxworth scored 15 points as the Flowery Branch High boys basketball team secured a 51-34 win against Winder-Barrow on Saturday in Flowery Branch.

DJ Brown contributed 12 points for the Falcons (11-6), who resume Region 8-5A play when they travel to face Walnut Grove at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Loganville.

CHESTATEE  GIRLS 52, WEST FORSYTH 40: Lady War Eagles senior guard Lindsey Caudell posted 19 points in a win Saturday in Gainesville.

Callyssa Tyner tallied 10 points for Chestatee (7-10). The Lady War Eagles resume Region 7-4A play against Blessed Trinity at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Gainesville.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 66, PRINCE AVENUE CHRISTIAN 55: Junior guard Adam Cottrell produced 19 points and seven rebounds to guide the Lions to a Region 8-A win Saturday.

Blake McIntyre put up 17 points for Lakeview Academy (8-5, 5-0 region), while senior guard Jack Blackburn recorded 10 assists and six steals. Lions junior forward Arturo Varela had eight points and seven rebounds.

Lakeview Academy returns to action against Commerce at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Commerce.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 66, FORSYTH CENTRAL 36: Kaylee Sticker had 19 points to lead the Lady Tigers in a win Saturday.

Nine players scored for Dawson County (9-7), including Sophia D’Oliveira with 10 points, Kati Brady with nine and Calli Watson with eight. The Lady Tigers host Union County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

PRINCE AVENUE CHRISTIAN GIRLS 54, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 34: Junior forward Savannah Kinsey totaled 14 points as the Lady Lions lost Saturday.

Senior guard Maddie Blackburn, senior forward Tori Taylor and junior forward Sadie Thrailkill scored six points apiece for Lakeview Academy (8-7, 4-1 Region 8-A). The Lady Lions visit Commerce at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 56, NORTH HALL 51 (OT): Jaycie Bowen produced a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Lady Leopards eked out a win Saturday.

Maddie Thomas connected on three treys as part of her 15-point outing for Banks County (14-3), while teammate Allison Smith racked up 10 points and eight boards. Amber Williams also scored nine points for the Lady Leopards.

Banks County takes on Rabun County at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Tiger.
