High school basketball: Flowery Branch girls basketball team rolls in 8-5A tourney opener

Caroline Wysocki scored a game-high 20 points for the Flowery Branch girls in an 83-12 win against Johnson in the opening round of the Region 8-5A tournament Wednesday in Flowery Branch. With the win, the Lady Falcons advance to face Cedar Shoals in the tournament semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday at Johnson High in Oakwood. 

Taniyah Worth finished with 13 points for the Lady Falcons (21-5), while Ashley Woodroffe chipped in 12 points.  Flowery Branch has now secured a state playoff berth.
