High school basketball: Eliza Snyder carries Lakeview Academy girls to big win against Hebron Christian

The Lakeview Academy girls team finished the regular season with a perfect region record, beating Hebron Christian 67-40 on Friday. With the win, the Lady Lions will be the No. 1 seed in the Region 8-A tournament on Wednesday in Commerce. 

On Friday, Eliza Snyder had 30 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists for the Lady Lions (21-4, 9-0 Region 8-A). Joelle Snyder had 11 points for Lakeview Academy, while Jackie Allen finished with nine points and 

five assists. 

Also for the Lady Lions, Sadie Thrailkill had eight points seven rebounds. 

BUFORD GIRLS 72, CLARKE CENTRAL 29: Blair Wallis scored 17 and Tate Walters finished with 15 for the Lady Wolves (22-2, 10-0 Region 8-5A) on Friday. Also for Buford, Preston Reid finished with 14 points.

On Thursday, top-seed Buford opens the region tournament against an opponent still to be determined at Walnut Grove High. 

LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY GIRLS 62, CHEROKEE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 25: Madison Hughes led the Lightning (14-8) with 15 points, followed by Faith Wasden with 13.  Lanier Christian Academy will host The Kings’ Academy at 6 p.m. on Tuesday for the region tournament. 

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 72, EAST HALL 62: Kaylee Sticker scored a season-high 34 points for the Lady Tigers, while Sophia D’Oliveira chipped in 11 points. Up next, Dawson County opens the Region 7-3A tournament against an opponent to be determined. For the Lady Vikings, Audrey Griffin led with 13, while Maggie Griffin scored 12 and Alexis Burce had 11.  

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 75, WHITE COUNTY 44: Caroline Wysocki finished with a team-high 26 points for the Lady Falcons (22-3, 12-0 Region 7-4A), while Ashlee Locke scored 14 and Ashley Woodroofe had 10. 

BANKS COUNTY 43, SOCIAL CIRCLE 31: Carl Cleveland scored 16 points and picked up six boards for the Leopards on Friday night. Also for Banks County (18-8, 13-2 Region 8-2A), Wes Ledford chipped in 12 points, while Pierce Martin had nine. 


CHESTATEE GIRLS SOCCER 8, EAST HALL 0: The Lady War Eagles were led by Kyleigh Drew with six goals and one assist, followed by Jenny Davila and Elizabeth Leon who each added a goal for the Lady War Eagles.
