High school baseball: Gainesville wins with walk-off double against Madison County
Jackson Kemp drove in winning run in ninth inning for the Red Elephants

Jackson Kemp had a walk-off double for the Gainesville High baseball team in a 6-5, nine-inning win against Madison County on Friday at Ivey-Watson Field. Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Cale Conley had a double for the Red Elephants (9-4) to tie the score. 

Conley also had a triple for Gainesville. 

Jared Smith finished the game with a hit in all three at bats and scored twice. 

Banks Griffith picked up the win after throwing three innings and allowed three hits in relief.

NORTH HALL SWEEPS FANNIN COUNTY: Reese Olson finished with five hits for the Trojans in a 13-4 and 6-4 sweep of a region doubleheader against Fannin County on Friday in Blue Ridge. In the first game, Caleb Clark, Dylan Wiley and Olson each chipped in three hits as part of an 18-hit team performance. 

In Game 2, Olson, Charlie Erickson and Caleb Wiley each had a pair of hits for North Hall. Mark Swett pitched five innings and allowed three hits and an earned run to earn the win. 

BUFORD 16, JOHNSON 0: Sean Adams pitched four innings while striking out nine batters for the Wolves (9-7) on Friday in Oakwood. Garrett Glover pitched an inning of hitless relief for Buford.

Austin Turner had a homer and drove in three runs for the Wolves.
