Gorecki propels Scranton past former team

Former Gwinnett Brave Reid Gorecki hit a two-run home run in the third inning to propel the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees to a 7-3 win over the Gwinnett Braves on Sunday afternoon at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.

Jo-Jo Reyes lost his third straight start and has now failed to go more than four innings in any of his four starts for Gwinnett (25-31) this year (his first was a two-inning rehab start for Atlanta).

Barbaro Canizares hit the 100th and 101st doubles of his career, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI for the G-Braves. Freddie Freeman knocked in an RBI (1-for-4) in his second straight game since returning from his right knee injury, and Brandon Hicks was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Gwinnett wraps up their series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and their eight-game homestand at 7:05 tonight. Todd Redmond (5-5, 4.41 ERA) will start for the Braves, while the Yankees will start Dustin Moseley (2-3, 4.21 ERA).
