Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will open its 2008 football season Thursday, Aug. 28 against Jacksonville State, the school announced Friday.
After the opening home game, the Jackets will play their next two games on the road against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, Boston College and Virginia Tech. Upon returning to Atlanta, Georgia Tech will play host to Mississippi State of the Southeastern Conference, whom the Jackets have agreed to play a home and home series with. Georgia Tech will travel to Starkville, Miss. in 2009.
Other games of interest on the Yellow Jackets’ schedule include a home game with Florida State on Nov. 1 and another Thursday night game at home against Miami on Nov. 20.
Like always, the Yellow Jackets will conclude the regular season with a game against instate rival Georgia in Athens on Nov. 28.
The 2009 schedule includes three games against SEC schools including road games at Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
The Yellow Jackets also agreed to a home and home series with Alabama that will begin in 2013.
