ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Glory Johnson had 15 points and a career-high 18 rebounds to lead No. 4 Tennessee to a 66-42 victory over Georgia Tech on Friday night in a game that was delayed four times because of power outages.
The power went out at the University of Virgin Islands four separate times delaying the game approximately 44 minutes total. The entire island of St. Thomas experienced blackouts.
The first power outage came just before the first half while the other three came midway through the second half and Tennessee up big.
Meighan Simmons added 14 points for the Lady Vols (6-0), who will face No. 12 Georgetown on Saturday.
Tennessee went on scoring runs of 12-0 and 15-0 in the first half to open a 46-17 halftime lead.
Alex Montgomery tallied nine points and six rebounds to lead the Yellow Jackets (3-4), which converted just one field goal during the final 8:23 of the first half.
