Georgia Tech senior center Sean Bedford was selected Wednesday to the 2010 Preseason All-Atlantic Coach Conference Football Team in voting conducted by the media at the annual ACC Football Kickoff, which was held July 25-26 in Greensboro, N.C.
Bedford is the only player on the defending ACC champion Yellow Jackets named to the preseason squad. Tech senior quarterback Joshua Nesbitt, the 2009 first team All-ACC quarterback, was not named to the preseason team despite ranking sixth in voting for the ACC Preseason Player of the year.
Bedford, a 2009 All-ACC First Team selection, started all 14 games last season and helped Georgia Tech lead the ACC in rushing offense and total offense. He was named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week following the Virginia Tech game on Oct. 17 and co-Offensive Lineman of the Weed after his performance against North Carolina on Sept. 26.
In all, 20 of the 23 honorees on the team earned first or second-team All-ACC honors last fall, with 16 having been selected to the All-ACC first team. The three remaining players who were voted onto the 2010 preseason team were Honorable Mention All-ACC last year.
