University of Georgia junior Richard Samuel is moving back to his original position as a running back from linebacker as announced by the school Thursday. He was redshirted in 2010 when he moved to defense.

In 2009 as a sophomore, Samuel carried the ball 88 times for 395 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His biggest game that season was a 104-yard effort against Arkansas, including an 80-yard touchdown run.

"He's one of our fastest and most powerful players, is very mature, has a strong character and is a man we can count on," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "I'm proud of him for always putting the team first and I look forward to seeing what he can do."
