Lady Bulldogs take down defending champs

Megan Wiggins had four RBIs, including a three-run home run in the sixth inning, to lead the Georgia Lady Bulldogs to a 6-3 win over defending champion Washington in the Women's College World Series on Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Trailing 3-0 after the first inning, the Lady Bulldogs (49-11) scored a run in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the sixth that completed the comeback win.

Erin Arevelo pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings with six strikeouts to pick up the win for Georgia, which had its bottom two hitters -- Laura Trout and Ashley Pauly -- go a combined 5-for-6 with three runs scored.

Buford High grad Ashley Razey went 1-for-4 for the Lady Bulldogs.
