Georgia outside linebacker Ray Drew was named the Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman Player of the Week for the first time in his career for his performance in the Bulldogs' 33-28 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Drew, a 6-5, 263-pound native of Thomasville, finished with a career-high three tackles, including a sack for minus 8 yards and 2.5 tackles for loss for minus 13 yards. Drew also forced a fumble and recovered it as the Commodores were driving in Georgia territory in the final minute of the first half.
The Bulldogs (5-2, 4-1 SEC) have an off week this Saturday before traveling to Jacksonville, Fla., to face Florida (2-3, 4-3 SEC) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. The game will be televised on CBS.
