Georgia’s Tasha Humphrey was named SEC Player of the Week on Monday by the Southeastern Conference league office in Birmingham.
The Gainesville High School graduate earned the weekly honor for the eighth time after scoring a game-high 22 points, 14 rebounds and four assists in the Lady Bulldogs’ win over Auburn on Sunday.
She will tie the record for the most SEC Player of the Week awards if she wins the award one more time.
After Sunday’s game, Humphrey is second among Georgia’s all-time leading scorers with 2,199 points. She is also eighth in career games started with 116.
On the season, Humphrey leads the Lady Bulldogs with 17.7 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game.
