High school tennis: Gainesville boys compile 5-0 win against Johnson
The Red Elephants plan for season's final regional matchup.

Philip Mady, Ben Burns and Truett Keener captured singles victories for the Gainesville High boys (8-2, 4-0 Region 8-6A) in a 5-0 win against Johnson on Thursday. In doubles, Michael Head/Caleb Anderson and Andrew Elliot/Samuel Holt took home doubles victories for Gainesville.

Gainesville visits Lanier for the regular season region title on Tuesday in Sugar Hill.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 4, JOHNSON 1: Grace O’Keefe and Avery Vlassis won their singles matches, alongside victories by doubles pairs, Callie Peterson/Grayson Wagner and Savannah Brown/Hannah Wagner, for the Red Elephants on Thursday.

The Red Elephants visit Lanier on Tuesday for the season’s final regional match.

NORTH HALL BOYS 4, DAWSON COUNTY 1: Kody Dills and Jonathan Elder locked up singles wins for the Trojans (8-6, 4-1 Region 7-3A) with doubles victories from Forrester Terry/Jackson Roush and Noah Wagner/Jake Bruce.

North Hall looks to clinch the No. 2 seed in the regional tournament next week at East Hall.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 5, DAWSON COUNTY 0: Anna Montgomery, Lauren Davis and Baylee Turner earned singles victories for the Trojans (11-3, 5-0 Region 7-3A) and cemented their No. 1 seed in the regional tournament with doubles wins by Sydney Patterson/Raquel Kallab and Ella Oxley/Lauren White.

North Hall visits Lakeview Academy on Monday.

MARIST BOYS 3, FLOWERY BRANCH 2: Drayton Matus and Jack Thomas won in singles for the Falcons on Thursday.

MARIST GIRLS 4, FLOWERY BRANCH 1: Catherine Doran won in singles for the Lady Falcons (9-5, 3-2 Region 7-4A) on Thursday.
