G-Braves sweep Syracuse

Mitch Jones had three hits, three runs and three RBIs as part of a game previously postponed by rain on May 8 as the Gwinnett Braves won 6-3 against Syracuse on Thursday night at Coolray Field. The Triple-A G-Braves scored three runs in the first inning as Jones doubled to score Matt Young. Jones scored on a single from Barbaro Canizares.

In the seventh inning, Jones had a two-run home run to score Jordan Schafer. Jones also reached base on a walk.

Young finished with two hits and a run scored for Gwinnett. Canizares was 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Tim Gustafson pitched six innings and allowed three earned runs to earn the win for Gwinnett.

The G-Braves won Game 2 of the doubleheader, 3-0, in seven innings.
