Tyler Flowers belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift the Charlotte Knights over the Gwinnett Braves Wednesday night at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, SC.

The G-Braves fall to 75-57 as the Knights improve to 62-69. The Gwinnett loss, paired with a Durham Bulls win, reduces the G-Braves’ division lead to just one game.

Flowers was 2-for-5 with a run and four RBIs on the night. His game-winning homer came off Juan Perez, who picked up just his second loss of the season after allowing only one run in 1 2/3 innings. Perez threw a third-strike wild pitch to put Josh Kroeger on first base and walked Michael Restovich to put runners on first and second before surrendering the homer off Flowers.

Earning the win for Charlotte was Jon Link, who shut out the G-Braves in the 11th inning.

Gwinnett posted six runs in the sixth inning to take a 6-2 lead, but the Knight tied the game with 6-6 in the bottom half. Again the G-Braves took a 7-6 lead in the eighth, only to watch as Miguel Negron led off the ninth with a triple and scored on a Josh Kroeger single.

The G-Braves and Knights face off for the seventh consecutive game Thursday at Knights Stadium. Gwinnett will send LHP Jo-Jo Reyes (3-1, 2.68 ERA) to face RHP Lucas Harrell (4-1, 3.17 ERA) with the first pitch set for 7:15 p.m.
