G-Braves fall to Clips

The Gwinnett Braves lost 12-0 to the Columbus Clippers Saturday at Gwinnett Stadium. Gwinnett fell to 32-25 as the Clippers improved to 28-28.

Playing without their regular equipment, which was still en route from Rochester, NY, to Gwinnett Stadium by the start of the game, the Braves committed five errors.

The Clippers also pounded out 17 hits.

Michael Brantley was 4-for-5 with two runs, a homer and two RBIs. Matt LaPorta was 2-for-5, also with two runs, a homer and two RBIs. Andy Marte recorded two RBIs in the win.

Gwinnett starter Jeff Lyman picked up a loss in his Triple-A debut, allowing three earned runs on five hits in four innings.
