Freeman extends hitting streak to 10 games for G-Braves

Gwinnett first baseman Freddie Freeman extended his hitting streak to 10 games and the Triple-A G-Braves defeated the Buffalo Bisons 7-2 on Monday night at Coolray Field.

Freeman, Joe Thurston, Wes Timmons and Matt Young all finished the game with a pair of hits. Each had an RBI single in the second inning.

The G-Braves scored twice in the first inning.

Freeman had an RBI double and Thurston drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.

Tim Gustafson earned the win for Gwinnett with six innings pitched and allowed an earned run. Stephen Marek earned his fourth save of the season for the G-Braves.

Gwinnett plays host to Buffalo at 7 p.m. tonight at Coolray Field.
