Freeman drives in three in G-Braves win

On the strength of a four-run fifth inning and three Freddie Freeman RBIs, the visiting Gwinnett Braves defeated the Toledo Mud Hens 7-3 on Tuesday.

Freeman went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo home run to lead the Gwinnett offense. He was backed by Matt Young (2-for-4) and Diory Hernandez (2-for-5, two RBIs).

Ryne Reynoso earned the win, yielding three runs (two earned) and striking out eight in five innings. Vladimir Nunez, Corey Gearrin and Stephen Marek combined for four scoreless innings of relief work.

Rick Porcello took the loss for Toledo, surrendering 10 hits and five earned runs in six innings.

Gwinnett and Toledo return to action at 7 tonight.
