Former Gainesville High standout drafted

With two picks in the fifth round on Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs took defensive back Kendrick Lewis of Ole Miss and linebacker Cameron Sheffield of Troy.

Lewis, a Gainesville High graduate, started all 13 games at free safety this past season. He ranked 10th in the SEC in passes defended (0.92 pg) and 20th in tackles 6.5 pg).

Lewis led the Rebels in tackles (84), solo stops (57), forced fumbles (3) and blocked kicks (2) and was tied for the team lead in interceptions (2) while ranking second in pass break-ups (10).
