ECHL: Gladiators add a pair

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced Thursday that they have signed forwards Jordan Fox and Marty Mjelleli, as well as defenseman Preston Briggs for the 2008-09 season.

Fox, who comes to the Gladiators from the Flint Generals of the International Hockey League, scored 26 goals and had 34 assists in 66 games last season. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound forward also collected 91 penalty minutes in 2007-08.

Briggs joins the Gladiators after appearing in 68 games last season while playing for the Pensacola Ice Pilots.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound defenseman had seven assists last season and is entering the fourth year of playing professional hockey.

Mjelleli is a rookie from St. Cloud State University. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward scored seven goals and had 14 assists in 69 collegiate games.
