North Georgia Rowing Academy represented well at Clemson

Several teams from the North Georgia Rowing Academy competed in the Tail of the Tiger in Clemson, S.C., on Saturday.

The girls junior four-man varsity team of coxswain Catalina Dunn, Amber Rewis, Kelsey Scanlin, Autumn Delorme and Holly Shilling took second place overall.

In the boys junior four-man varsity race, coxswain Mikey Barry, Dominic Lo, Will Hemphill, Hyder Hasnain and Connor Shiver took fourth place. And Coxswain Hasnain, Lo, Scanlin, Chastain and Garrett Boon placed third in the mixed junior four-man varsity race.

The rowing academy is a competitive rowing team based on Lake Lanier for students 12 and up.

It was founded this year and competes in regional regattas in Georgia and nearby states.

Jim Pickens, the former coach and Executive Director at Lake Lanier Rowing Club, coaches the group.
