Local tennis director Charlie Fischer, a certified member of the United States Professional Tennis Association, recently received an award for outstanding participation in the association’s continuing education program.
The USPTA recently awarded Fischer a Level I Certificate of Achievement for earning credits in the association’s Career Development Program over a one-year period.
Fischer has been the director of tennis for the Chattahoochee Country Club for the past 22 years and is a USPTA P-1 certified teaching professional, played high school, college and professional tennis, and has been ranked No. 4 nationally by the USPTA in men’s doubles. Fischer developed a student, Bill Pham, who played No. 1 at UC Santa Barbara and achieved an Association of Tennis Professionals world ranking in singles.
