Ben Ingram of Gainesville was one pin shy of a perfect game, but his 299 was good enough to win the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships on Friday in Reno, Nev.
Ingram left the No. 10 pin standing on his final roll, narrowly missing perfection.
"The last shot looked good to me, but I just didn't get the carry," Ingram said. "I am happy, though. I think anyone would be happy with a 299 here."
