Bob Watson and Herb Sckerl teamed up to take first place as the Chattachoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two-man team, best-ball match Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Jim Carroll and Don Wells tied Bob Henderson and Joe Roberts for second, while Bud Clegg and Carlyle Cox placed fourth.

Bill Sutton and John T. Smith placed fifth and Eddie Johnson and A.J. Kiker placed sixth.

Closest to the pin winners were Watson on No. 3, Clegg on No. 5, Roy Lyle on No. 12 and Denny Momper on No. 17.

DPG: The Dedicated Players’ Group played matches Wednesday and Friday this week at Chicopee Woods.

On Wednesday, there were ties for first and second place. Bob Kidd and Dave Jetter shared first with a score of even. Horace Smallwood and Jerry Pearson tied for second with a score of -1.

Friday’s match included individual and team play. Kidd and Charley Kilby shared first place individual honors with a score of plus-3. Jerry Shell and Kilby teamed up to win the team competition with a score of plus-3. Kidd and Jetter came in second with a score of even.
