The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its monthly individual flighted strokes competition last
Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
Bill Shrader finished in first place in the white flight, Tom Sexton came in second, Dick Bachman and Roy Bartlett tied for third, Stu Virgin was fifth, and Paul Payne and Gene Weschler tied for sixth place.
In the gold first flight, Karl Goellner finished in first place, Bob Pyne and Bob Henderson tied for second place, and Bill Collier, Carlyle Cox and Richard McClure tied for fourth place.
Harry Barnett took first place in the gold second flight, A.J. Kiker finished in second place, Bud Clegg took third place, and Roy Lyle was fourth.
Tony Denote finished in fifth place, and Bob Layne and Dave Long tied for sixth.
Closest to the pin winners were Herb Sckerl (No. 3), Collier (No. 5), McClure (No. 7), Bill Kinser (No. 12), and Barnett (No. 17).
DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played matches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday last week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.
Horace Smallwood finished in first place on Monday, followed by Charley Kilby in second and Justin Pepicelli in third.
On Wednesday, Steve Knowles took first place, Doug Padgett finished in second place, and Dave Jetter came in third.
Kilby finished in first place on Friday, Pepicelli came in second, and Jerry Shell was third.
LUNA’S TUESDAY: The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played at the Chattahoochee Golf Course last week.
First place went to the team of Richard Strickland, Tommy Lowery, Blake Nix and Don
Johnny Nix, Ken Chahoy, Michael Gordy and Nelson Wright came in second, and the team of Gene Weschler, Tom Sexton, Jerry Johns and Doug Van finished in third place.
Closest to the pin winners were Gene Cobb (No. 3), Sexton (No. 5), Blake Nix (No. 7 and No. 12), and Stan Davidson, Jr (No. 17).
CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low gross, low net and low putts event last Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. In the first flight, Mona White won low gross, Ann Hollobaugh won low net, and White and Hollobaugh tied for low putts.
In the second flight, Martha Shell won low gross and low putts, and Nora Gleason won low net. Closest to the pin winners were Gleason (No. 3), and Sue Cronmiller (No. 17).
