Martha Shell and Steven Knowles tied at +6 to take first place as the DPG played the first of three matches this week at the Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Horace Smallwood (+5) was second, while Jerry Pearson and Dave Jetter tied for third at +4.
On Wednesday, Pearson took first place at +9, while Dwight Miller and Dennis Jones tied for second at +5. Pearson took first against on Friday at +9, while Charley Kilby (+4) was second, and Miller (E) was third.
LUNA: Michael Gordy, Tom Sexton, Ken Chahoy and Jim Cornett teamed up to take first place as the Luna's Tuesday Golf Group played at the Chestatee Golf Course this week. Second place to the team of Larry Cleek, Don Rogers, Stan Davidson Jr and Ronnie Ledford, while the team of
Tommy Lowery, Gene Weschler, Juan Luna and Johnny Nix placed third.
Closest to the pin winners were Cleek on No. 3 and No. 8, Weschler on No. 11, Cornett on No. 15 and Sexton on No. 17.
CMGA: Gene Weschler and Herb Sckerl tied for first place, while Paul Payne and Bill Ingram tied for second, in the white tee flight as the Chattahoochee Men's Golf Association played its monthly individual, flighted-strokes game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. In the gold tee flight, Bob Henderson and Bill Falls tied for first, Dave Gleason placed third, Jere Cochran placed fourth and Doug Van and Jim Hollobaugh tied for fifth.
Wayne Nelson took first place in the gold tee second flight, while Jim Carroll placed second and Rolf Legbandt placed third, Johnny Little followed in fourth, with Ron Hopley and Dave Long tieing for fifth. Closest to the pin winners were Hopley on No. 3, Little on No. 5, Henderson on No. 17 and Larry Cohan on No. 17.
DOGFIGHT: Jim Arendt, Gayle Gibson, Jerry Horton and Terry McFarland teamed up to card a score of 29-under-par, and take first place in the Wednesday Dogfight held at Chicopee Woods Golf Course this week. Greg Lee, Karl Steigele, Don Schrum and Keith Fitzgerald were in second at 23-under. Individually, Jim Arendt (62) took first, while Roger Stapp (65) was second. Bob Arendt, Horton and Steigele tied for third at 66, while McFarland finished in sixth at 67.
CLGA: Sally Smith and Mona White tied for first place in the low-gross first flight as the Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low-gross, low-net match Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
Ann Hollobaugh was first in low-net. Paula Pilgrim took first place in the second flight's low-gross, while Nancy Negley was first in the low-net. Closest to the pin winner was Hollobaugh on No. 3 and No. 17.
