Joe Roberts, Tom Sexton, Tommy Lowery, and Cleve Brown took first place in the Luna’s Tuesday golf group event at the Chattahoochee Golf Course this week. Second place went to the team of Jerry Johns, Richard Strickland, Bud Black, and Johnny Nix. Third place went to the team of Gene Weschler, Nelson Wright, Doug Van, and Stan Davidson Jr. Closest to the pin winners were Johns (Nos. 3 and 5), Roberts (No. 12) and Strickland (No. 17).

CMGA: Stan Davidson Jr., Jim Griffin, Don Sorrell and Bill Sutton all took first place in the Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association’s two-best ball, aggregated-net points match Wednesday at Chattahoochee.

Eddie Johnson, Larry Cohan, Richard McClure and J. B. Johnston earned second place. Roy Lyle, Roger Miller, Weschler and Bud Clegg placed third. Bob Henderson, Gary Palmer, Denny Momper and Ed Pledger came in fourth.

Closest to the pin winners were Johnson (Nos. 3 and 5) and Weschler (Nos. 12 and 17).

WEDNESDAY DOGFIGHT: Chris Jones, Mike Tilson, Keith Fitzgerald and Yoko Komoto took first place with a score of 20-under par as a team in Wednesday’s Dogfight at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Tommy Calhoun, Bob Arendt, Tony Tankersley, Cleve Sexton finished second at 17 under.

Tankersley (65) took first individually, while Jones (67) placed second. Tilson (68) placed third, Phil Rothermel (69) finished fourth and Terry Clegg (70) finished in fifth.

DPG: Dave Jetter and Jerry Shell took first place in the Dedicated Players Group match on Tuesday at Chicopee Woods, and Shell repeated as winner Friday. Horace Smallwood finished first on Wednesday, Charley Kilby came in second and Jetter and Shell tied for second.
