The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two best ball, aggregated net strokes game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.
In first place was the team of Johnny Little, Don Gage, and Al Pannell.
The team of Roger Miller, Bill Collier, John T. Smith and Dick Bachman finished in second place.
Closest to the pin winners were Ed Pledger (Nos. 3 and 5), Jere Cochran (No. 12) and Bachman (No. 17).
WEDNESDAY DOGFIGHT: The Wednesday Dogfight group played a two best ball net this week at Chicopee Woods.
The team of Tommy Calhoun, Gayle Gibson, Vince Jonte and Yoko Komoto placed first, shooting 31-under par.
Greg Lee, Don Schrum, Mike Tilson, Terry Mcfarland finished in second place at 28-under par.
Individual results were also kept. Gibson shot a 62 and finished first, and Lee placed second, one stroke behind the leader at 63. Len Kaper earned a third place finish with a 64.
DPG: The DPG played matches on Wednesday and Friday at the Chicopee Woods course. The Wednesday results were Jerry Shell placing first, Norm Phillips placing second, James Roberts in third and Bob Kidd in fourth. Friday’s results were Charley Kilby placing first and James Roberts placing second.
Mark Montgomery hit a double eagle on the second hole of the Village course at Chicopee Woods. Dale Gross, Stan Rawl, and Ray Meadows were witnesses of this event.
Montgomery was using a 3-wood.
