Local golf results: Jones wins 2 at Chicopee Woods

Dennis Jones finished in first place for the Dedicated Players Group on Monday and Wednesday. The group played matches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Club. Denis Jordan finished in second on Monday, Terrence Dale finished in second on Wednesday and Friday, and Charley Kilby finished first on Friday.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played an Individual Flighted net points game today at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. Roy Bartlett finished in first place for the White Tee Flight, Stan Davidson, Jr., came in second, Tom Sexton finished third, and Gene Weschler and Larry Cohan tied for fourth place.

Bob Henderson finished in first place for the Gold Tee First Flight, Jere Cochran came in second, Don Gage finished third and Denny Momper came in fourth.

Buddy Reeves and Dave Long tied for first place in the Gold Tee Second Flight, Don Sorrell came in third and Bob Watson finished fourth. Closest to the pin winners were Reeves (No. 3), Bud Clegg (No. 5), Bill Sutton (No. 12) and Cochran (No. 17).

LUNA’S TUESDAY: Joe Roberts, Stan Davidson, Jr., Tom Sexton, and Cleve Brown finished in first place as a team at the Luna’s Tuesday Golf group played at the Orchard Country Club in Clarkesville this week. Second place went to the team of Gene Weschler, Donny Smith, Tommy Lowery and Doug McMahan. Third place went to the team of Randy Gordy, Rich Baker, Doug Van and Tim Mueller. Closest to the pin winners were No. 2 Van, No. 7 Roberts, No. 11 Lowery and No. 13 Smith.

WEDNESDAY DOGFIGHT: Eric Awtry, Bob Arendt and Mike Tilson (10 under par) finished in first place in Wednesday’s Dogfight at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Tom Bolton, Paul Gibson and Levan Webster (9 under par) finished in second place.

Dan Arthurs (68) finished in first place for the individual results, Tilson (71) in second and Dennis Huffman, Jim Arendt and Len Kaper (72) tied for third.
