Local golf: Cronmiller wins at Chattahoochee

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low-net, low-gross event Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First-flight winner for low gross was Sue Cronmiller and low-net winner was Beulah Land. Second-flight winner for low gross was Joann Stone and low-net winner was Jewell Floyd. Closest to the pin winners were Nora Gleason on No. 3 and Paula Pilgrim on No. 17.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a three best ball, aggregated net-points game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First Place went to Larry Cohan, Ed Pledger, Butch Teston and John Beem with the team of Guy Long, Dave Valent, Bob Henderson and Dick Bachman tying Eddie Johnson, Johnny Little and Herb Sckerl for second.

Fourth Place went to Gary Palmer, Mike Humin, Rolf Legbandt and Bud Clegg, while Joe Kolesar, Jim Martin and Don Sorrell tied A.J. Kiker, Stu Virgin, Paul Payne and Ron Bachman for fifth.

Closest to the pin winners were Kolesar on No. 3 and No. 5, Bob Pyne on No. 12 and Dave Gleason on No. 17.

DPG: The DPG played matches Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

Monday’s match was won by Dwight Miller with a score of +3. Dave Jetter took second with a +1 and Bob Kidd finished third with an even score.

Wednesday’s match resulted in a three-way tie for first. Terrence Dale, Kidd and Steve Knowles each posted a score of +7 to win the match.

On Friday, Billy Corbin won first place in the individual match with a score of +4. Corbin also partnered with Doug Padgett to take first place in the team competition with a +2. Kidd and Miller placed second in the team event with -3.
