Local golf: Adams places first at Chattahoochee

Bill Adams took first place in the White Tee Flight with the Chattahoochee Men's Golf Association on Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Gene Weschler came in second, Al Pannell in third and Tom Sexton finished fourth. Karl Goellner took first place for the Gold Tee First Flight with Joe Kolesar and Don Gage tieing for second and Doug Van and Ed Pledger finishing in a tie for fourth.

Jim Hollobaugh finished first in the Gold Tee Second Flight, Jim Carroll came in second, Buddy Reeves in third and Guy Long, Bud Clegg and Roy Lyle all tied for fourth.

Jim Van Dyke finished first in the Gold Tee Third Flight, Dave Longe came in second and Ben Brooks and Wayne Nelson tied for third.

Closest to the pin winners were Goellner (No. 3), Sexton (No. 5), Roy Bartlett (No. 12) and Joe Kolesar (No. 17).

DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played matches this week at Chicopee Woods on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Al Crego finished first and Dennis Jones came in second on Monday.

Terrence Dale finished first Wednesday, James Roberts in second and Denis Jones in third. Roberts finished in first Friday and Crego took second.

COAKLEY RECORDS HOLE IN ONE: Jason Coakley, of Jacksonville, Fla., connected on a hole in one on No. 11 at Apple Mountain Golf Course on Saturday in Clarkesville.
Coakley used a 3-iron on the shot from 183 yards.

The accomplishment was witnessed by Ben Donovan, Cal Henderson and Joe Cummings.
