Violet Reynolds, Peggy Hall and Nancy Negley took first place Tuesday as the Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a Texas scramble match at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Second place went to Sally Smith, Betty Norton and Nora Gleason. Closest to the pin winners were Smith on No. 3 and Sue Cronmiller on No. 17.

Ann Hollobaugh too first place in the low gross, and Smith took second, as the CLGA played a throw-out event May 10 at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. Riki Von Stroud won the low net, while Betty Norton placed second. Closest to the pin winners were Johann Stone on No. 3 and Gleason on No. 17.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its monthly individual flighted strokes competition Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. First place in the white tee flight went to Stu Virgin, and second place went to Paul Payne. Larry Cohen, Bill Sutton, Eddie Johnson and Bill Ingram rounded out the top five. Sutton and Johnson tied for fourth.

In the gold tee first flight, Bob Henderson won first place, and Don Gage and Don Sorrell tied for second. Bud Clegg, Bob Watson and Clay Bartlett finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Wayne Nelson won the gold tee second flight, while Johnny Little came in second. Bob Layne, Ben Brooks and Dave Long tied for third.

Closest to the pin winners were: Harry Barnett (No. 3), Richard McClure (No. 5), Long (No. 12) and Roy Bartlett (No. 17).

DOGFIGHT: The Wednesday Dogfight played a three-best ball, net game Wednesday at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. The team of Ricky Brown, Mike Tilson, Chris Jones and Allan Summerville finished 24-under to win the event. The foursome of Greg Lee, Karl Steigele, Jerry Horton and Keith Fitzgerald carded a 20-under to place second. Fitzgerald and Summerville each shot a 66 to win the individual competition. Mark Black and Horton tied for third with a 67, while Greg Schrum and Tilson finished tied for fifth after shooting a 68.
Yoshi, Mike Stokes, Dan Arthurs, Tommy Calhoun and George Brady tied for seventh with a 69.

LUNA: Tom Sexton, Johnny Nix, Stan Davidson Jr. and Jim Cornett took first place as the Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group played at the Chattahoochee Golf Course this week. Second place went to the team of gene Weschler, Jerry Johns, Doug Van and Don Smallwood, with the team of Tommy Lowery, Cleve Brown, Don Rogers and Richard Strickland placed third. Closest to the pin winners were Sexton on No. 17 and No. 17, and Weschler on No. 12.

DPG: Dwight Miller, Jerry Shell and Horace Smallwood tied for first place after each fired a +2 as the DPG played Monday at Apple Mountain. Dave Jetter (E) was fourth. Smallwood took first Wednesday at Chicopee Woods at +5, with Miller (+3) in second and Billy Corbin (+2_ in third. Corbin tied Denis Jordan at +7 for first place Friday at Chicopee Woods. Charley Kilby and Shell tied for third at +2.
