IronDawgs powerlifting team sets records at local meet

Gary Hatfield broke Southern Powerlifting Federation world records with a bench press of 540 pounds and a 580-pound deadlift for the Georgia IronDawgs powerlifting team at the Body by George meet on Saturday in Loganville.

Tim Moon took first place in the 275-pound, 45-49-year-old class with a bench press of 705 pounds, and Zack Layfield pressed 190 pounds in the 70-74-year-old, 165-pound class.

The same weekend, the IronDawgs’ Garry Glenn won one gold medal in the Global Powerlifting Alliance Raw World Championships in Finland. Tyler Cummings took silver in the junior 110-kilogram weight class, and Ross and Dana Tripp won gold in their bench press classification.

L.B. and Svetlana Baker took gold in their full power class.
