Ashley Neal’s two-run home run lifted West Hall to a 6-4 win against Monroe Area Tuesday in Oakwood.
Miranda Miller was the winning pitcher for West Hall (4-3, 1-0 Region 8-AAA), giving up two earned runs, and adding two hits.
The Lady Spartans travels to Lumpkin County Thursday at 5:55 p.m. in Dahlonega.
JACKSON COUNTY 8, JEFFERSON 7: The Lady Panthers’ (2-4, 0-1 Region 8-AA) Madison Whitmire went 2 for 3 with a triple, single, and scored a pair of runs Tuesday in Jefferson.
Jackson County’s Haley Shinall earned the win in the pitching circle by allowing four earned runs.
Jefferson’s Jordyn Whitfield and Lindsey Miles each drove in a pair of runs.
The Lady Dragons face Archer today in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational at the West Jackson Sports Complex in Hoschton. Jackson County faces Peachtree Ridge today.

LADY WOLVES SWEEPS TRI-MATCH AT NORTH HALL: Maggie Roper led the Buford High volleyball team with 18 kills, 10 digs and seven aces in wins against Lakeview Academy (25-7, 25-12) and North Hall (25-16, 25-14) on Tuesday in Gainesville.
Bailey Hicks had 29 assists and eight digs, and Jessica Falletta added 13 digs in the two wins for Buford (2-0).
Lakeview (1-1) pulled out a close victory in their match against North Hall 23-25, 25-21, and 25-23.
The Lady Lions’ Jamie Nelson had seven kills to go along with her three aces.
Sarah Paschall led the Lady Trojans with 18 digs, five blocks and a pair of kills. Kristina Gregory added 22 assists for North Hall.
Buford hosts Pinecrest Academy and South Forsyth at 5 p.m. Thursday.
North Hall has a week off and will resume play next Tuesday at home against Jefferson at 5 p.m.
Lakeview faces Habersham Central at 6 p.m. on Friday in Mount Airy.
JEFFERSON TAKES TWO AT HOME: Jefferson defeated George Walton Academy in the opening match of the season 27-25, 25-13. The Lady Dragons then defeated Hebron Christian 25-17, 25-20.
Amanda Daniel had two aces, six kills, and 30 assists on the night for the Lady Dragons, while Cassie Metcalf added five aces and nine kills.
Jefferson visits North Hall at 5 p.m. Aug. 23.
WEST HALL SWEEPS TRI-MATCH: The West Hall Lady Spartans (3-0) took matches against Habersham Central 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, Flowery Branch 25-25, 15-25, 25-20, and East Hall 18-25, 25-21, 25-22 on Tuesday.
Laykin Herford had 102 assists, LeNiesha Kearse had 28 kills to lead the team. Tanya Bennett had 13 blocks to go along with her 19 kills. Carrie Ruis and Krista Walsh both added 30 digs for West Hall.
East Hall (5-2) earned wins over Flowery Branch 25-21, 22-25, 25-22 and then defeated Habersham Central in their second match 15-25, 25-22, 25-19 before losing to West Hall. The wins was were the first for East Hall over Habersham Central and Flowery Branch against these programs in program history.
Brittney Cambell had 6 aces, 7 kills, 37 assists and 12 digs for the Vikings.
East Hall begins thier 8-AA region schedule on Thursday at East Jackson.
West Hall faces East Jackson at 5 p.m. Thursday in Commerce.
JOHNSON SPLITS MATCHES AT HOME: The Johnson Lady Knights lost to Winder-Barrow and beat Chestatee 25-19, 25-22. Savannah Turk had 4 aces, 8 kills and 3 digs to lead the Lady Knights.
Johnson plays again Thursday at Lumpkin County in Dahlonega.
