In a game of defending state champions, the Buford High softball team lost to the defending Class A state champions Gordon Lee 2-1 on Monday at Kennesaw State University.

With the loss, the Lady Wolves (0-1), ending a 20-game winning streak dating back to Sept. 15 of last season against Class AAAAA Collins Hill.

On Monday, Buford’s Jordan Deet knocked in the only run of the night for the Lady Wolves. Kodi Ricketson had two hits, a double and scored Buford’s only run. Bria Bush pitched for the Lady Wolves in a losing effort, though neither of the runs allowed were earned.

Buford faces Madison County at 5:55 today at North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega.
