GHS alum named head swim coach at UNC-Asheville

Gainesville High graduate Elizabeth Lykins was hired as the University of North Carolina-Asheville’s women’s swimming coach earlier this wsdfseek. 

Lykins previously served as an assistant coach at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Fla., where she helped the team win three consecutive Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships. Prior to FGCU, Lykins spent five years as an assistantat Georgia Southern.

Lykins is a 1998 graduate of the College of Charleston, where she was a four-year member of the swim team. Lykins was a captain for two seasons and was named women’s team MVP in 1998.
