A pair of Gainesville High golfers finished 1-2 in the freshman/sophomore division of the Winternational Junior Series of Golf in Pinehurst, N.C.

Red Elephants sophomore Grant Lasseter (74-39-113) needed one extra hole to defeat his high school teammate, freshman Nathan Williams (76-37-113). Williams pulled even on Sunday, making up three shots on the final three holes. Lasseter prevailed in the sudden death playoff after Williams three-putted the hole.

Gainesville’s Spencer Ralston tied with three others for fourth.
